The polo team, led by Mr. Rashid al Habtoor, patron of Habtoor Polo, took part of the Toñanejo Tournament, 12 goal championship which introduces the high polo season in Sotogrande that will start on the 27th July with the International Summer Polo Tournament held in the Santa Maria Polo Club. The Toñanejo Tournament, which was sponsored by Jnan Amar Polo Club Marrakech, had four teams fighting for the cup in three days of intense competition. Jnan Amar Polo Team, with Mr. Rashid Al Habtoor´s son, Tariq, as Nº1 player, finished in the second place after winning two matches and only loosing one. Mario Gomez and Ignacio Domecq, two of the most important polo players in Spain, also played for Mr. Rashid Al Habtoor Team. The Tournament was won by Santa Maria Polo Team and after the finals, held on Sunday 18th July, it was offered a cockatil and presentation of the Jnan Amar Polo Club Marrakech followed by important celebrities from Spain, Dubai and Marrakech.
